Weaving Floor at Dovecot Studios
About this space
Weaving Floor is a Hall in Dovecot Studios, a double-height, naturally lit gallery space with expansive vertical volume.
Design: The Weaving Floor has high painted timber trusses and an arched vaulted ceiling; pale walls and polished timber flooring provide a neutral backdrop for large textile works.
Features: The Weaving Floor provides permanent gallery hanging rails and adjustable track lighting, a wide open plan on a polished timber floor, and a step-free guest entrance with wheelchair access.
Ideal for: Creative and cultural groups will find the space suited to relaxed, gallery-style standing receptions or exhibitions that prioritise circulation and display.
What sets it apart: An uninterrupted perimeter viewing balcony overlooks the weaving floor, providing elevated vantage points for displays and demonstrations.
What guests say: The Weaving Floor presents textile displays effectively under even lighting. The room's layout supports easy circulation and close viewing of work.
