About this space

The Rooftop Terrace is a private open-air rooftop at Clifton Observatory that occupies the observatory's historic summit and retains its period character.

Design: The terrace presents an informal outdoor layout combining a sheltered canopyed section and open deck areas. The terrace uses simple, durable finishes and festoon lighting that support evening use and easy circulation.

Features: The terrace includes on-site Wi‑Fi and benefits from abundant natural daylight during daytime hire. The terrace is served by a seasonal rooftop café when weather permits and allows hosts to play their own music or bring an external DJ. On-site staff support is available for event logistics.

Ideal for: The Rooftop Terrace suits small groups seeking a relaxed, social standing reception in an outdoor, historic setting.

What guests say: The rooftop terrace provides clear, elevated views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Avon Gorge. The terrace sits within a historic observatory that contributes a distinctive, characterful setting.
