About this space

The Weather Deck is an Outdoor Space in the SS Great Britain that provides an open-air timber deck framed by tall masts and wide sightlines across the dock.

Design: The deck presents dark timber planking, low painted deckhouses and exposed rigging that create long linear sightlines; daylight and open sky dominate the area.

Features: The area is an outdoor, semi-private deck served by venue Wi‑Fi and abundant natural light. The space includes a PA system and permits own music or a brought DJ subject to a noise-restriction policy. The deck is wheelchair accessible and supported by accessible toilets and a step-free guest entrance.

Ideal for: Private groups seeking a relaxed, social standing reception or informal drinks in an open-air maritime setting.

What sets it apart: An authentic 19th-century ship deck preserved as part of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's SS Great Britain.

What guests say: The ship is lovingly restored and evocative of its original voyage-era condition. The deck and adjacent spaces display detailed fittings and carefully recreated interiors.
