The Basement is a semi-private area in the Criterion Hotel bar defined by a compact, low-ceiling layout that creates an intimate, club-style setting.
Design: Dark timber seating and counters sit against textured plaster walls hung with framed prints and mirrors, under warm amber wall lighting that keeps the room visually contained.
Features: A clear wooden dance area is set apart from bench seating and high tables. The space includes Wi‑Fi, air conditioning and accessible toilets. A venue noise restriction applies to late-night amplified sound.
Ideal for: Intimate social groups are best suited to relaxed, music-led standing receptions that combine mingling and dancing.
What sets it apart: An integrated PA and permission to host external DJs provide a ready-made, amplified music setup for events that require a DJ or live mixing.
