Entire Venue at Colombo Social
About this space
Colombo Social is a restaurant-run social enterprise kitchen that pairs Sri Lankan share-style cooking with a training and employment programme for asylum seekers.
Design: The interior has whitewashed brick walls, a long banquette opposite rows of timber tables and woven dining chairs, set on concrete floors under rattan pendant lights and hanging plants.
Features: The venue has an in-house Sri Lankan kitchen and a cocktail menu served at the bar. The venue provides Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a PA system for music and allows guests to bring their own DJ. Step-free access, accessible toilets and a noise restriction policy are provided.
Ideal for: Groups seeking a relaxed, social seated dinner centred on shared plates and casual cocktails.
What sets it apart: A meal is donated for every set menu ordered, supporting communities both in Australia and in Sri Lanka.
What guests say: The space is lively and moderately loud. The seating layout can feel tight between tables, making booth seats a preferred option.
