Engine Room at The Burgess Foundation
About this space
This is our one main room, a converted mill space that once housed the machinery of the industrial revolution, and now hosts conferences, workshops and away-days for The British Council, Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester City Council and much more, along with numerous literature, comedy and classical music events.
Our bar space is directly attached to this space and works very nicely for registration desks and merch displays.

FAQ
Yes. Hire includes use of the venue sound system and projector/screen, opening of the licensed bar, and support from a venue manager. Hirers are responsible for ticketing and promotion; there are no in-house sound engineers, although a list of audio technicians can be provided on request.
The venue is used by other people, so complete quiet cannot be guaranteed, although there are usually only a handful of people in the building. It is next to a bus route, and passing lorries may cause minor rumbles; most filming clients, including Sky TV and the BBC, allow for this and find that it works well.
