The National Cycling Centre on the Etihad Campus in Manchester is one of the UK’s main venues for cycling. It’s home to British Cycling and has been the training base for top riders over the years, including Sir Chris Hoy, Laura Kenny, Jason Kenny, and more recent names like Emma Finucane and Bethany Shriever.
The venue has seating for around 3,400 in the velodrome and 1,800 in the BMX arena. It’s often called the “Medal Factory” because of its role in developing world-class riders across track, road, BMX, and mountain biking. It’s also open to the public, with sessions for beginners through to experienced riders.
Alongside sport, the space is used for conferences, exhibitions, and large-scale events. It’s hosted things like the ICE Bike Trade Show, SOPHOS Conference Day, and the Manchester Beer Festival. You can set events up in a few different areas — on the track itself, on the upper concourse overlooking the velodrome, in the Peter Thomas Suite, or in one of the hospitality boxes.
The ground floor concourse works well for exhibitions, retail setups, or food and drink. The trackside hospitality boxes are good for smaller events like meetings, dinners, or receptions, with a clear view over the track.
