Booking was super easy, staff were really helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process. The room is lovely, bit of a squeeze for 18 but we made it work! Food and drinks were all delicious and there was never a moment were we felt forgotten, there was always someone poking their head in to check we had everything we needed.
Paying was a nightmare, I had really hoped there would be an easier way to settle the bill but it took about 40 minutes in total for each of us to pay individually and take each item off the bill. During that time and while we were queuing to pay, our tables were cleared including drinks that weren't finished. It was very complicated and unfortunately put a dampener on what otherwise would have been an amazing evening.

The staff had been amazing from start to finish from making the booking/pre-order to the evening event. The pre-order was easy to complete and worked even better on the night as you could use each persons name and then there was no confusion to what anyone had ordered. We took a cake, balloons etc during the day and the staff were so friendly and helpful and stored them for us to have on the table later that evening. The food was incredible (as always) and the waitresses and waiters were all amazing and very attentive.

Browns in Manchester is the converted Athenaeum, formerly one of the city’s most famous pubs and originally the imposing banking hall of Parrs Bank. Designed by Charles Heathcote in 1902, it’s a lovely example of Edwardian baroque architecture with some beautiful art nouveau detailing, particularly in the wrought iron work.
