The space upstairs was lovely and comfortably fit the number of guests i invited. Music from downstairs was really nice and wasn’t too loud upstairs, but enough to have some background music. Food was also tasty.
Unfortunately, a few errors happened. - Firstly, the food I ordered was incorrect (but was rectified by the staff which I appreciate). - Secondly, I booked this venue until 1am and it did not state anywhere (nor was I told online upon booking, or when we first arrived) that we would need to vacate our area before 1am. I was first told by an assistant manager around 9pm during the party that we would need to vacate the area at midnight so they could clean, but we could go downstairs into the public bar for last orders. at 11pm, the same manager then approached me and said you have 15 minutes until you need to vacate the area so we can close it. This is clearly a different time to what I was first told and what I originally booked. They then turned on the fire alarm which only chimed upstairs, as nobody downstairs vacated the pub at any point, to get us to leave the area. This is poor lack of communication and unprofessional behaviour, and if I knew we had to vacate the area 1hr 30 minutes before what was agreed, I would’ve booked another place. The management did not offer me any compensation for mishandling my booking and for not clarifying what time we actually had to leave. The TagVenue website clearly stated the timing that it closes at 1am, and needs to be corrected as this is not the case. I also paid £50 deposit to hire this venue which I have not received back, and was not redeemed against food or drinks. At a minimum, I would like this back.
Beautiful venue with excellent service. The staff was very accommodating and responsive to all of our needs. Location is central and easily accessible. Would highly recommend!
Good venue and value for money and friendly staff
Mix up with booking - not given the snug as requested. Staff friendly but due to position tucked away in corner difficult for those tucked away in the corner to place drinks orders
The staff were very accommodating. The food was excellent. We had a great 30th birthday party here.
