About this space
The Great Hall is located in the heart of our London Road campus. The building is a beautiful Grade 2 listed building which was opened in 1905. The hall has a fixed stage.
The Great Hall can accommodate up to 500 guests plus a choir and orchestra on stage.
The maximum of people on the stage is 90 people at any one time but the stage can be extended or extra space on the floor can be used depending on the size of the audience. We can recommend Henley Theatre Services for this (SICO extension).
The total measurements of the Great Hall including the stage is 32.1m and the width is 14.6m which is a total square footage of 468. The toilets are just outside the Great Hall and can be accessed via the rear door of the Great Hall. There are toilets inside the Great Hall for performers along with changing areas known as the Banana room which is shaped around the rear of the organ on stage.
We have a grand piano which can be used for your concert, but it does need tuning which needs to be paid for by yourselves prior to arrival. We would provide you with contact details for the tuner and you would need to pay our contractor directly. The piano is on a raised platform so it can be moved onto the stage. You are also able to use the organ in the Great Hall as part of the hire.
There is no AV (including a sound system/microphones) in the Great Hall as standard but we can contract our AV team to supply a range of equipment and additional charges will apply.
There is parking for up to 200 people on the London Road Campus where the Great Hall is situated. This cannot be reserved and is on a first come first served basis. We can reserve a few spaces for the organisers but no more than this for the whole event.
