The Space is the largest and most dramatic room at Nottingham Contemporary, a fully flexible venue set within our RIBA award-winning gallery building. With its striking concrete architecture, professional lighting rig and large-scale screen, it can be transformed to suit everything from a formal conference to an evening celebration.

The Space hosts a wide variety of events, including corporate conferences, awards ceremonies, lectures, film screenings, live performances, staff parties and photoshoots. It accommodates up to 200 guests theatre style, 180 cabaret style or 360 standing.

Every booking includes a lighting rig, PA system, large-scale screen and projector, lectern and microphones, and a laptop with connection leads. A dedicated technician supports your event throughout, including set up and take down, and performers and presenters have use of a private green room with an accessible shower and toilet.

The Space is located on the lower ground floor of Nottingham Contemporary, in the heart of the city's historic Lace Market, and is accessible by lift or stairs from our main entrance. For larger events, it can be combined with our café bar, Blend at Contemporary, to take over the whole lower level.
