About this space
The Bar Room is a semi-private bar area in a Bar at Nell's NQ (Common). It provides a compact, sheltered seating cluster within the larger bar.
Design: The space has raw, contemporary finishes: concrete floor, exposed plaster walls and plywood joinery punctuated by colourful fabric banners. The layout pairs a low sofa and wooden chairs with pendant lighting that keeps the area bright and informal.
Features: A fixed bar counter and loose seating create zones for standing service and relaxed tables. The room includes a PA system and speakers and allows a bring‑your‑own DJ setup; it also provides Wi‑Fi and air conditioning. The area has wheelchair access, accessible toilets and a step‑free guest entrance.
Ideal for: Small, relaxed social groups seeking an informal mix of seated and standing space within a sheltered corner of a busy bar.
What guests say: The space has a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere and a relaxed, approachable feel. The area is frequently described as easygoing with generally pleasant service.

I had my 30th birthday here, and it was absolutely brilliant. The staff were excellent, attentive and were on hand with any queries. Music and general atmosphere was brilliant and what excellent value too! Cannot recommend highly enough

Christmas Party · 30 guests

The place is nice for a stand up and mingle event. Staff is nice and helpful.
We have been told that there will be a DJ.
On the day, turned out that DJ will be placed in the same area with us(that took some space from the floor for our party)
Although the lady was lovely, the music she played wasn’t (it was jumping from modern songs to old Christmas song) without any logic.
Everyone in our group noticed that music could have been better for a Saturday night.
