Venue space was lovely. Staff there were helpful and accomodating. The food tasted great. Loved how we could top up the bar tab on the night.
Venue only just fits 80 people. Food came out late and in the wrong order for the run sheet. None of the food was labeled making it very difficult for those with allergies to eat comfortably. The number of people the platters say they cater is for a lighter feed. 1 player for 6-8 would perhaps be a better description than 8-10 The function was meant to be planned and booked at least 1 week out from the event however, when we supplied our details, for a run sheet and for a full quote to pay, we were told it would be organised closer to the event, until it was organised and paid for 2-3 days beforehand.

We had our wedding reception at The Lord Alfred Sports Bar, and it was honestly the best decision we made! From the very first enquiry right through to the night itself, the staff were incredible. So easy to deal with, professional, and genuinely went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. The Sports Bar was the perfect space for our relaxed, cocktail-style reception. It had the ideal mix of fun and classy. Great atmosphere, plenty of room for guests to mingle, and that Brisbane city charm without feeling too formal. The bar staff kept drinks flowing all night, the food was amazing (everyone commented on how good it was!), and the setup looked absolutely beautiful. We had so many compliments from our guests about how perfect the night felt. Comfortable, seamless, and full of energy. If you’re looking for a venue that takes the stress out of wedding planning, delivers 10/10 service, and knows how to host a party, The Lord Alfred is it. Thank you to the whole team for making our wedding reception so memorable. It honestly couldn’t have gone any better 💙

We had the best night celebrating our engagement party! Cara was amazing from the start! Super fast at replying, met with me to show me the venue within a couple of days of emailing, helped me plan and put my mind at ease! The venue it’s self was amazing, great space, amazing staff, food was great, will definitely be coming back for more special occasions in the future, We’re over the moon with the service in every aspect! Thank you guys

We loved everything at the Verandah Bar at the Lord Alfred. From enquiry to our wedding reception on Saturday., Cara and the team could not have been more professional and accommodating in the lead up as well as on the day. We had about 40 guests and the Venue Manager ensured that our platters came out to ensure it flowed around what was happening. We had our own decorations and we could set up before the event. James, who manned the bar kept us informed of the bar tab. Food was excellent. The Verandah Bar is also upstairs and so we could have the area to ourselves. Private toilets, private bar, our own music through that area. It was raining on the Saturday but being in the Verandah Bar we could have the doors open, with a beautiful breeze and so our guests could sit inside and outside. Plus a lot of the guests enjoyed pool. It was such a relaxed feel. Our photographer could mingle and then get a great group shot. Afterwards we went downstairs and had a lovey spot in the main bar. We had the very best time and getting married the day before and then having a reception from 11am - 4pm. Then downstairs from 4pm onwards.
