About plantroom
In 1908, the majestic Algha Works sprang to life, a towering five-story industrial that exclaims its industrial prowess with a mesmerizing dance of vertical bays, adorned in resolute brickwork and graced by tall, stately windows that punctuate its primary façades.
But, the 1940s and 1950s marked an era of monumental significance as the factory's mighty machines hummed and clanked, forging the iconic gold-coated spectacles that became the NHS's standard bearer.
And, as the factory reached its zenith, it spun out not just eyewear, but a touch of royal elegance in the form of the Queen's spectacles and the timeless, iconic frames that graced John Lennon's legendary gaze.
The second floor of this heritage site building has only very recently been made available for private hire. The warehouse is available for corporate events, Christmas and birthday parties, pop-up events, and many others.
