About The Honor Oak
Walk into the Honor Oak and you’ll find a sizable piece of the outside world brought inside with the unveiling of the pub’s new “living wall”. Spanning the entire length of one side of the pub, the expansive indoor garden creates a vibrant, living and ever-changing decorative feature. We couldn’t bring an oak tree in, but the living wall is our representation of the parkland in which the original Honor Oak is believed to have stood.
Legend has it that Elizabeth 1st picnicked under the tree on her way to Lewisham in 1602. The impact the vertical garden has on the sound, light, heat and overall feel of the pub is amazing.
Previous visitors will also find recent notable improvements to the beer range, food, gardens and décor. A performance and private hire space has been created upstairs as a daily program of events have been programmed which includes community workshops to DJ, live music, jazz and jam sessions.
