We had a fantastic time at Marquis Cornwallis for our Christmas party. We had around 80 guests, which felt like the most we would want in the space, it was very full but it worked. The staff were fantastic and the food was great, we'd definitely love to be back!
The advert said the space would hold 100 but we had 80 and that felt as full as would be comfortable. Not a complaint, just a comment for future.

Overall it was an excellent service all evening. Our bar staff was extremely helpful with all of our requests such as dimming lights, aiding in our set up of the room etc. and dealing with quite a crowded room. We really appreciate it and my mum and I had a great time overall so thank you!
If a slight tweak would just be that it wasn't massively clear when the bar staff would clock in from and so at the beginning of the event, the bar was left unattended for a while and we came downstairs 2-3 times to ask but once started, it all was fine!

We had the most amazing 40th birthday celebration here. Room is really reasonable in terms of minimum spend, Ranjit was so amazing on the night with his customer service and support of us, and Marcin and Susan were helpful in the run up too. They were very accommodating of our many requests. As it is the room is really beautifully done so doesn't require a lot of decoration but we were able to decorate the room how we wanted for our disco theme, the food was excellent (we had bar snacks served like a mini buffet), and we could have our own playlist through a really decent sound system. All of this helped us have a really special time celebrating. We'd definitely recommend this venue and will be back ourselves.
There was some miscommunication in the run up to the event about the room layout, but this was soon resolved and in the end it worked out really well. The food came out slightly earlier than we agreed which meant that it was a bit cold by the time the majority of our guests arrived, that said everyone enjoyed it anyway. I think the capacity of 100 standing may be slightly overstated as with the room layout 60-70 felt comfortable but any more may have felt over crowded.
