The initial engagement from Emily was brilliant in securing the venue. She provided all the details I required and was very responsive. The venue itself was beautiful, and was the right amount of space for our attendees. The food came out on time, the AV equipment ran smoothly (we used mic, projector/HDMI and speakers) and access to the outdoor terrace was appreciated. The drinks on arrival were also a great touch.
I wasn't told until the day before the event that there wasn't a bar in the room (not sure if I just missed this in the information booklets given or not). As we had to use the shared bar there were some noise complaints about the attendees and we feel that this wasn't handled great by the bar staff who were rude to attendees. The entrees were lovely, but we have had some feedback that the mains needed more seasoning, would have been great to have salt and pepper potentially on the tables.

Everything was perfect. We had my 50th birthday party at the Orchard Room. Grazia Fuggiano was extremely professional in helping me organise the event. Alicia and all the staff were amazing. The Canape food was fresh and delicious, and all my guests were impressed by the quality of the food and service. It was impeccable. So, a big THANK YOU to all staff at the Mercure Hotel for contributing to a successful event where everybody had an amazing time!! Strongly recommend. Money very well spent!! 10/10

The Tower room was spacious, and the attached terrace was a bonus for organizing kid's activities, all our guests loved the space, and the food was really good. Parking was easy at the hotel basement, and the kitchen staff was helpful.
1. The fan in the terrace wasn't working and it was a 30 degrees day with kids' activities organized outside. After a few reminders from the hosts and follow up with the maintenance staff, an alternate small fan was provided but it almost took 2 hours to organize which was very disappointing and frustrating for kids and their parents.
2. The cake was not cut and served by the catering staff on time, some guests had to leave without eating the cake. We were told pretty late at the party that this wasn't in the order, so we had to pay extra on the day for this service. Paying extra is ok, but guests leaving without eating the cake was disappointing.

Beautiful venue with gorgeous views of the city. Ample parking on site which made it so easy for guests. Fully equipped with all your party needs and food is amazing.
A little disorganised leading up to the event and communication was poor at times, however, everything was really well managed on the day and the event coordinator was amazing.
