Loved the actual venue and facilities, very comfortable, extremely private with modern connections and lovely bathroom facilities. Perfect for our one-day training session and it would make a nice function venue.
The food really wasn't up to what we usually expect from Spicers unfortunately. It was the day after Anzac Day, so perhaps there was a problem with getting fresh food, but the cakes were stale, the lettuce floppy, the cauliflower seemed to be as twice cooked as the potatoes but the gnocchi was quite nice. Having advertised it as a 'Vietnamese style banquet', even with vegetarians aboard, there was no reason to go to gnocchi and more of a middle eastern cauliflower dish and remove the freshness that's expected in Vietnamese style food. The food was half the reason we booked this venue as we wanted everyone to feel that they were at a special event, but unfortunately Spicers let us down this time. I would book the venue again, but forego the food unless they convince me otherwise.
