I had my 30th birthday party at The Magpie and it was excellent. The room was ready on time, well set out and perfectly clean. The bar in the room was well stocked and the service friendly and warm. We didn't have food provided, but some of my guests ordered bar snacks which they really enjoyed (and it was very reasonable of the Magpie to allow bar snacks but not full meals so as not to overwhelm the kitchen). The staff checked in regularly that everything was going well. There was no hire cost, just a minimum spend which was very achievable and my deposit was returned promptly. I've had many a pint in the Magpie over the years and I'm so pleased it lived up to all my fond memories as the perfect venue for my birthday celebration!
Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect. One thing to be aware of for other guests though is the room is upstairs so not accessible for anyone with mobility issues.
