About Go Ape Glentress Forest

The gateway to the Tweed Valley Forest Park, you’ll find Glentress Forest an hour's drive south of Edinburgh.

It’s a mecca for mountain bikers who flock to the award-winning trails. Based on the side of a hill, the dramatic views, which change with the seasons, are more than worth the climb.

There are over 50-miles of purpose-built mountain bike trails at Glentress.

Some of the best trails in the country include Green, Blue, Red or Black graded trails, as well as a magnificent multi-graded free-ride area. Bring your bikes or there’s bike hire available.

It’s not just mountain biking the area is renowned for. Take to the walking trails and explore this beautiful part of the country which offers varied wildlife and rich history.

There are five fantastic walking trails of varying levels of difficulty plus options for horse-riding and orienteering.

Head over to the Wild Watch Centre which has live feeds from various cameras placed around the forest allowing you to view osprey, pond life, bees and birds.

In need of refuelling? The Glentress Peel Café serves delicious snacks and refreshments.
