About this space

The Tall Ship Glenlee is a restored Victorian sailing ship preserved as a maritime museum and event venue. The defining quality is an authentic shipboard interior made up of interconnected decks and compact compartments rather than a single event room.

Design: The interior presents low, timber-lined decks, exposed steel framing and narrow passageways, combining varnished wood and painted metal surfaces with period-style fixtures and adaptable event lighting.

Features: Onboard spaces include exhibition galleries, a galley, a cargo hold, an engine room and a mini cinema that can serve as distinct event areas. A PA system and speakers are installed, and bookings may use their own music or bring a DJ; a dancefloor is available. Additional facilities include Wi‑Fi, air conditioning, accessible toilets, a step‑free guest entrance and wheelchair access, and onsite staff plus a café support events.

Ideal for: Groups seeking a relaxed, social reception or an exploratory, walk-around gathering that makes use of multiple small, connected spaces across decks.

What sets it apart: The ship is one of only five Clydebuilt steel sailing ships still afloat and the only example remaining in the UK.

What guests say: The space benefits from friendly, informative staff and a pleasant café. The ship is interactive and educational, with clear explanatory displays that guide exploration across the decks.
