About this space

The Coconut Tree Bournemouth is a casual Sri Lankan restaurant defined by a colourful, informal interior and street-food style dining.

Design: The interior pairs painted timber panelling and solid wooden tables with a long, hand-painted mural that runs along one wall. The lighting uses exposed pendant bulbs and a low, open-plan ceiling that keeps sightlines clear.

Features: Natural light reaches the dining area through street-facing windows. Solid wooden tables and bench seating are arranged in an open-plan layout that can be reconfigured for seated dining or mingling. Tabletop holders carry menus and condiments for straightforward, informal service.

Ideal for: Social groups seeking relaxed, informal seated dining or casual standing receptions in a lively, colourful setting.

What sets it apart: An on-site PA system and speaker setup combined with a BYO-DJ policy allow private music programming during events.

What guests say: The restaurant provides attentive, knowledgeable service and a lively, often busy atmosphere at peak times.
