The Malthouse at The Olde Bell
About this space
Located next to the Main Inn, The Malthouse is a detached Victorian building with its own walled garden, separate entrance and tennis court. Inside, you’ll find five stylish function rooms.
The Drawing Room runs the full length of the building and offers a private bar. The Garden Room boasts French doors on two sides, high ceilings and a large fireplace. The Music Room has high ceilings, a large fireplace and a grand piano. These three rooms all lead out onto the beautiful walled gardens.
The intimate Library with dark oak panelling and a hand-painted cocktail cabinet is perfect for drinks. The Oak Room is an oak-panelled room with a working fireplace and windows on three sides that let in a wealth of light.
The Malthouse can host up to 60 guests for your ceremony and a seated meal and 120 guests for an evening reception. In addition to that, it offers accommodation in 14 bedrooms.

Prices
payment. After this point, we require a 10% deposit based on the estimated total cost of your wedding (unless
otherwise stated) & a signed copy of our terms & conditions. Until these are both received the booking will
not be confirmed.
If you require the use of our Malthouse for your evening reception you will then
be contracted to 14 Malthouse bedrooms (6 classic bedrooms, 3 superior bedrooms, and 5 luxury bedrooms).
This is as a result of noise pollution making it difficult for us to hire out these bedrooms to any other residents.
The cost of these bedrooms can either be picked up by you or by guests within your wedding party. These
bedrooms will be available for your guests to book by contacting the main reception unless you request otherwise.
Guests can either book bedrooms through you and then you can forward a list of bedrooms required to
The Olde Bell or guests can phone up the hotel directly and ask to book one of the wedding rooms reserved
for your wedding (it will not be possible to do this online). All bedrooms on hold must be allocated no later
than six weeks before your wedding; if this is not done you could be liable for full cancellation fees.

- No smoking in the building
- No alcohol allowed after 11.30 pm on Sundays
- At the Malthouse DJ can play till 23:00 Monday – Thursday, 23:59 Friday & Saturdays and 23:30 on Sundays. Live Music & Bands till 23:00 Monday – Saturday and 22:30 on Sundays. At the Tithe Barn – Live Music, Bands & DJ can play till 23:00 Monday – Saturday and till 22:30 on Sundays.
- Candles are permitted at the venue as long as they are in an appropriate heat resistant holder
