City of London Venues Hire Guide

Party Venues in City of London FAQ

How much does it cost to hire a party venue in the City of London?

The final cost of renting a party venue in the City of London mainly depends on the type of venue, its location, its popularity and the duration of the event. A small, casual party up to 10 people can cost from as low as £50 per hour. Many venues with in-house catering, such as bars, restaurants and bistros may offer different types of per-person party packages that will range between £25 to £105+ per person and have food and drinks included in the price. It is also possible to hire a venue on a  minimum spend basis which will cost from £100 to £2000+ per event. However, as these are the general prices, we highly suggest you message the venue managers for an individual offer. (All data from Tagvenue.com.)

Where can I find great party venues in the City of London?

In the City of London, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to finding party venues. This affluent business district hides fab venues practically everywhere! However, we suggest starting your search near London Cannon Street Station. You’ll find there anything from funky bars, and cocktail clubs to stylish restaurants and sweeping rooftop terraces. You should also try your luck near the Bank of England, on Old Broad Street. This historic street offers fantastic coffee shops and soulful eateries that are popular among white-collar workers.

Any tips for hosting a great party?

  1. Choose a funky theme - Nothing excites guests more than a fun theme! It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate - even a simple Black & White party will do. But we always suggest choosing a theme that includes something that you especially enjoy. Maybe you’re mad about travelling or love Thai food? Personal themes will make the party stand out from the crowd and people will be more eager to show up!
  2. Plan ahead - Give yourself enough time to plan and organise everything you’d like to include at your party. This way, you won’t forget about any important element and you’ll feel less stressed out once the day of the party comes.
  3. Choose the perfect location - Make sure that the venue you choose is easily accessible by public transportation. Your guests will appreciate that they don’t have to spend hours commuting, and a location with a certain vibe can hype them up for the event. For example, if you’re throwing a Shakespeare party, you can choose the West End which is all about theatre and artsy vibes.
  4. Choose a delicious menu -  Make sure that no one leaves hungry! Whether you’re planning a sit-down dinner or a cocktail party, choose delicious food that everyone will enjoy. Ideally, it should match the party theme as it will make the whole experience more cohesive.
  5. Think of entertainment options - Music and some games are a must! They will make your party more fun and enjoyable for your guests. Also, they will save everyone from awkward silence and boredom.

Booked Balcony Room at Swan, Shakespeare's Globe
The planning was flawless, service on the evening smooth and the food was delicious. My friends kept remarking on how tasty everything was. The space is gorgeous and we enjoyed the evening on the balcony with such a beautiful view of the river and St. Pauls. There is a lift if needed and a bathroom within the space. The staff did everything to make it a really special evening for my 30th birthday and I am so grateful. Could not recommend enough!

Booked Patch Basement at Patch St Paul's
The staff and management were so thoughtful, nice and helpful. Renata was great with lots of ideas . It was the most fabulous venue because it has lots of seating and nooks and crannies but they’re still within the party area! I would highly recommend this venue for private events.

Booked Birdcage at Bird of Smithfield
Excellent venue for my 40th birthday party for 45 guests - perfect size to create a great atmosphere. Really cool venue, lovely decor, which all guests commented on and totally private - own entrance , toilets and cloakroom. Bar staff (Marcel) were excellent and attentive and the canapés were delicious. Music can be turned up loud enough to have a good dance without being deafening. Enough seats for those who want to sit. All in, perfect!

Booked Full Venue Hire at Bounce Farringdon
Helpful and attentive staff who looked after us excellently for the whole evening. The facilities were great, and the ping pong enabled people in our party to mingle and network with others from the company who they may not have previously met. Food was good, house beer/wine was great too.
