Your Guide to Hiring Training Rooms in Melbourne

Looking for training rooms in Melbourne? Tagvenue makes it easy to find venues with the setup, equipment, and atmosphere you need—no guesswork, no wasted time.

What Makes a Great Training Room?

Melbourne’s best training venues are equipped for productivity and built for collaboration. Many offer:

  • AV essentials – projectors, large screens, high-speed internet, sound systems, and webcams
  • Flexible layouts – classroom, theatre, or boardroom-style seating
  • Breakout spaces – ideal for group tasks, brainstorming, or coffee breaks
  • Catering options – in-house menus or BYO catering for longer sessions

From sleek boardrooms in the Melbourne CBD to creative hubs in South Melbourne or St Kilda, you'll find venues that match your training style and budget. CBD venues are ideal for teams commuting from across the city, while inner suburbs offer more flexibility for full-day or multi-day bookings.

Does Your Choice Of A Training Room Impact Creativity?

Yes! Room layout, atmosphere, and flexibility directly affect how creative your training session will be. If creativity is a key goal, avoid rigid, corporate-feeling spaces and look for open, bright, and adaptable environments that support group interaction, movement, and comfort.

These two Melbourne venues are perfect for creative training sessions, each offering a flexible, inspiring setup that supports collaboration and out-of-the-box thinking:

  • Mercure Melbourne Southbank – Located right in the cultural heart of Southbank, this venue offers a spacious room with seating for up to 60 and standing space for 80. The artsy energy of nearby NGV and the Yarra River promenade sets an inspiring tone before your team even walks through the door. Perfect for all-day training sessions, it's available at a daily hire rate of $762, with total pricing ranging up to $2,415 for larger setups.
  • Meet and Gather, Richmond – With 16 seats and space for 30 to mingle, this flexible and stylish space lives up to its name. Set in the creative corridor of Richmond, it’s surrounded by great coffee, graffiti-filled laneways, and a real startup buzz. Priced from $99/hour, it's a fantastic choice for workshops or brainstorm-heavy sessions that thrive in a more casual, collaborative setting.

Tips for Booking the Right Training Space

  • Know your session style: Hands-on team-building? Look for open-plan spaces with movable seating. Presentation-heavy agenda? Prioritise AV and acoustics.
  • Check equipment in advance: Don’t assume—confirm screen size, sound setup, Wi-Fi speed, and any extras like whiteboards or hybrid meeting tech.
  • Plan for comfort: Choose venues with natural light, temperature control, and amenities like coffee machines or snack stations to keep energy up.
  • Ask about food options: Some venues offer catering packages, others allow external catering or have nearby café partnerships.

Easy to locate, Free parking, includes WIFI, comes with Coffee and Tea. Room is spacious and no echo. I had problems projecting the music, and the receptionist was very helpful, look for manual, and even a back-up speaker for me. Highly recommended! Would definitely book it again!

Booked The Glasshouse at The Cluster

Great location. Creative Space that allows for both business meetings and trainings. The Warehouse is tucked away on the top floor away from the comings and goings downstairs. Everything you need is accessible. The staff are friendly, efficient and very accomodating. This made for a very well run event. Would recommend for any corporate trying to get away from the stereotypical office environment.
