When you book your wedding at East Mersea Hall, the venue will be exclusively yours for the day. This, together with its secluded location, gives you the privacy to enjoy your special occasion among your family and friends.
The Hall offers a variety of spaces to host your ceremony and celebrations, both indoors and outdoors.
If you want to host a barn-style wedding, the Pavilion with light oak beams and tall windows boasting views of the lake could be the right pick. This stunning room can hold up to 150 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 250 guests for an evening reception.
Located behind the lake is The Secret Garden, a gorgeous place for a festival-style wedding. The tipis or the marquee can hold up to 250 guests for a wedding breakfast and up to 300 for an evening reception.
The venue also offers non-legal ceremonies in the Woodland Ceremony Retreat.
For couples who want to get married in a church, historic Saint Edmund’s Church is situated within the grounds.

Whether you choose to get married in the lovely Pavilion or in the idyllic Secret Garden with tipis and marquees, the dedicated team will take care of every detail to make your special day perfect.
East Mersea Hall is located on the scenic Mersea Island in Essex, only 9 miles from the historic Colchester and 26 miles from Chelmsford. The history of the island dates back to the pre-Roman times and there are many historical landmarks to explore. The peaceful countryside setting, beautiful beaches and stunning views over the estuary make Mersea a great destination for a retreat.
