Low House is licensed as a civil wedding venue in Cumbria, enabling you to host your wedding at the same venue as the reception and evening party. You'll be able to choose to hold your civil wedding ceremony in one of the period-style rooms in the nation house or in the garden beneath one of the licensed gazebos. It is additionally the perfect place to host your wedding reception after a church wedding in nearby Armathwaite, Carlisle, Penrith – or anywhere else nearby in Cumbria. Intimate wedding occasions can be catered for inside the country house while bigger celebrations will have use of the expansive parkland for erecting a marquee.

Civil Ceremony & Civil Partnership (day only) £350
Price includes:
• Exclusive use of Low House for the entire day.
• Bridal preparation room for getting ready on the day.
• Civil ceremony set up in your chosen area for up to 40 guests
• Ample photo opportunities in both gazebos (even if weather is inclement), the beautifully manicured lawns and within the rich, opulent Georgian interiors.
• Reception drinks and canapés served beside one of the log fires in the Drawing Room, Old Dining Room or Library and in the extensive gardens, where your guests can mingle while taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
Wedding Breakfast £300
Price includes:
• Exclusive use of Low House
• Parking for all your guests
• Use of the ground-floor rooms inside the house and the extensive gardens where your guests can mingle whilst taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside for drinks and canapés/nibbles.
• Ample photo opportunities in both gazebos (even if weather is inclement), the beautifully manicured lawns and within the rich, opulent Georgian interiors.
Table laid according to your preferences with cutlery, crockery, glassware, linen, and candelabras with candles [where suitable].
• Sara Ecroyd Catering will provide all the food for your reception and wedding breakfast. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your catering requirements in order to create a bespoke menu.
After dinner service of coffee, tea etc. in the Drawing Room or the Old Dining Room.
Large Weddings (up to 200 people):
Civil Ceremony & Civil Partnership (day only) : £350
• Exclusive use of Low House for the entire day with the opportunity to have access in the days prior to the wedding for the preparation of floral and other decorations.
• Access as required in the week prior to your ceremony for your marquee contractors to erect the ceremony marquee.
• Bridal preparation room for getting ready on the day.
• Civil ceremony set up in the magnificent Main Hall for up to 80 guests or set up in the Eden Valley Wedding Gazebo and the Courtyard Lawn. (We do advise that a marquee is erected as shelter for larger guest numbers in case of wet weather. The cost of the marquee is not included).
• Ample photo opportunities in both gazebos (even if weather is inclement), the beautifully manicured lawns and within the rich, opulent Georgian interiors.

Low House is a sentimental country house wedding and events venue, flawlessly arranged within acres of private estate and parkland in the wonderful, rolling countryside of the Eden Valley in Cumbria. Grade 2 listed country house with panoramic views over the Eden Valley in the Lake District. Ideal wedding setting for intimate civil weddings or huge wedding receptions in a marquee. Choice of a civil wedding held in authentic country house venue or magnificent garden civil ceremony with views over the Eden Valley. Marquee wedding scene on expansive, private estate enjoying views of rolling Cumbria farmland. Only 20 minutes from Carlisle and Penrith. Train stations in both Penrith or Carlisle. Church weddings can be organized at a nearby church in Armathwaite.
