Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institution (BRLSI)
Room Hire Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions form part of the Hire Agreement between the Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institution (“BRLSI”) and the individual or organisation making the booking (“the Hirer”). By confirming a booking, the Hirer agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Charges and Payment
1.1 All hire charges will be confirmed at the time of booking.
1.2 Invoices must be paid in full prior to the date of room hire, unless otherwise agreed in writing by BRLSI.
1.3 BRLSI reserves the right to cancel a booking or refuse access to the premises if payment has not been received by the agreed date.
2. Cancellation Policy
2.1 All cancellations must be notified in writing by email to roomhire@brlsi.org. Cancellations made by any other means cannot be guaranteed to be accepted or refunded.
2.2 Cancellation charges are calculated by reference to the number of working days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays) prior to the scheduled event date, as follows:
• More than 30 days before the event:
No charge payable.
• Less than 30 days before the event:
100% of the total hire fee will be charged.

3. Use of the Premises
3.1 BRLSI reserves the right to immediately terminate the Hire Agreement if any event, performance, or activity taking place or likely to take place on the premises is, in the reasonable opinion of BRLSI:
• unlawful or contrary to any regulation,
• potentially immoral,
• inconsistent with the charitable objectives of BRLSI, or
• likely to be detrimental to BRLSI’s own use or occupation of the premises.
3.2 The booking may not be assigned, sublet, or transferred to any third party without the prior written consent of BRLSI.
3.3 The Hirer must ensure that an authorised and responsible person is present throughout the event to act as a point of contact with BRLSI staff.
