Beer Garden & Pergola at The Dun Cow

Outdoor Space at a Pub
·
Semi-private area
West End, Banbury, OX15 6DA
Hornton

About this space

The beer garden is one of The Dun Cow’s strongest event spaces, especially in spring and summer. It offers a relaxed countryside setting for drinks, garden parties, family gatherings, baby showers, informal receptions, BBQ-style events, sunny afternoon socials, and dog-friendly get-togethers.

The pergola gives the outdoor area a natural focal point and makes the garden feel more like an event space rather than simply a few tables outside. It works well for welcome drinks, relaxed seating, casual dining, private parties, summer socials, and gatherings that require a more open-air feel.

This is not a corporate terrace or a blank patio. It is a proper pub garden: informal, friendly, and easy to enjoy. Guests can move between the garden, bar and indoor areas, making it ideal for events that want flexibility rather than rigid structure.

Best for: summer parties, garden drinks, baby showers, family gatherings, dog-friendly events, informal receptions, birthdays, community socials, and relaxed outdoor private hire.

- The person making the booking is responsible for their guests and for any damage caused during the event. Guests must behave respectfully towards staff, neighbours and other customers. We reserve the right to refuse service or end an event early if behaviour becomes unsafe or disruptive.

- Alcohol must be purchased from The Dun Cow, and outside drinks are not permitted unless agreed in writing. Outside food is only allowed by prior agreement, such as celebration cakes or specific dietary requirements.

- Decorations, music and entertainment must be approved in advance. Glitter, confetti, candles, smoke machines and anything likely to cause damage, mess or fire risk may not be permitted. Amplified sound must be kept at a suitable level, especially in the evening and outdoors.

- Children must be supervised at all times. Dogs may be welcome by arrangement if well behaved. Outdoor areas, including the beer garden and pergola, are weather-dependent and may be subject to noise restrictions or earlier closing times.
