Back Lounge at The American
About this space
The Back Lounge (not a separate room, just located at the back of the bar) features a separate seating section for groups who want more of a private experience for their booking. The space can accommodate 40 people seated and up to 60~ people standing/mingling. There is a bar located in the Back Lounge and there is a dedicated bartender for every booking.
The area is separated by stanchions and features access to a private access, gender-neutral washroom.
Accessibility: The upper lounge area is not wheelchair accessible however the lower lounge area is wheelchair accessible.

Guests under 18 are not allowed after 8:00 pm
Host rules
- The bar is liquor primary however we have a family dining endorsement that allows minors on the premises until 8PM as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Smoking permitted outdoors only.
- Outside catering is permitted however there is a fee. Onsite catering is preferred.

About The American
The American is a barcade/sports bar and events space located at the intersection between Mount Pleasant, Strathcona, and Chinatown in Vancouver, BC. We have an open concept, communal space with a mix and mingle atmosphere that is perfect for groups both large (up to 250) and small.
We offer a great variety of craft beers, cocktails, and natural wines alongside a mouth-watering menu from DownLow Burgers. The room has numerous TVs/projector screens along with an ever-changing lineup of pinball and arcade games and an analog photobooth.
