About this space
The American is a sports bar in Vancouver, BC. We are located at the northwest corner of Mt. Pleasant and Chinatown and offer a communal space with a mix and mingle that is perfect for groups both large and small.
We feature long high-top tables and stools to accommodate 160 guests seated and 300 standing, as well as an upper/lower lounge with mixed seating.
Accessibility: The majority of the room features high-top tables/stools and stairs leading to tables but there are tables located in the back lower lounge that can accommodate specific mobility requirements. The venue has a dedicated accessible, gender-neutral washroom as well. Please inform us of any specific mobility requirements.

Host rules
- The bar is liquor primary however we have a family dining endorsement that allows minors on the premises until 8PM as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Smoking permitted outdoors only.
- Outside catering is permitted however there is a fee. Onsite catering is preferred.

The American is a barcade/sports bar and events space located at the intersection between Mount Pleasant, Strathcona, and Chinatown in Vancouver, BC. We have an open concept, communal space with a mix and mingle atmosphere that is perfect for groups both large (up to 250) and small.
We offer a great variety of craft beers, cocktails, and natural wines alongside a mouth-watering menu from DownLow Burgers. The room has numerous TVs/projector screens along with an ever-changing lineup of pinball and arcade games and an analog photobooth.
