- Fast adaptable service (flexible on when to bring out meals to our preference on the night) - Great food, good portion sizes - Affordable 2-3 course menu - Allowed us to use the sound system (and it's good) - Provided name placements - Allowed movement of tables after dinner to mingle and dance - Staff were kind and friendly Would definitely recommend hosting here!
- Drinks prices were more expensive than downstairs in the pub (about £1 markup). We would've met the minimum spend regardless and we did pay a service charge so that was a little annoying. - There was some confusion on the outstanding balance, but the staff were kind and we were able to work it out.

Great location, the private space has been spruced up and it looked really beautiful. The bar staff were so lovely and helpful. The venue were responsive when I called, and really quickly sorted a timing issue with the food for me. Food was delicious and served in good time.
Music is in a non-accessible place. I have had multiple events there so expected that I could control the music, but it was behind the bar this time, so make sure you have a remote option. The volume on their speakers is also very low. I would say if you want a party vibe and more than 40 people that the music is drowned out by guests and you cannot really hear the music. I asked for some (approx 12) of the bottle of beers to be swapped for soft drinks (on the night, not ahead of schedule) and they swapped two and couldn't do anymore than that which was slightly disappointing. Food previously has been beautiful, with a varied menu and presented beautifully. This time, less vegan options, no gluten free and no halal - disappointing. This year felt a bit more slapdash on presentation, all the 'boards' were just put on large platters, and this was definitely less appealing/pretty for guests. Would have been good to have printed menus or place-cards to explain what the food is or at very least, whether it was veggie/vegan/fish/meat. When asked, staff did not know. For food that tasted great, it was a let down that is wasn't presented more thoughtfully.
