About this space
Home to the Sandys family for over 500 years, Graythwaite Hall is set on their 5,000 acre family run estate on the western shore of Lake Windermere. The Hall dates from 1660 and is home to a vast collection of historical artefacts, paintings and antiques.
The seven acres of historical gardens that surround the Hall were designed by the renowned landscape architect Thomas Mawson in 1889.
