About this space
The gallery space at our Covent Garden site is glass-fronted and street facing. It has glass double doors that open directly on to the street. White walls and bright lights inside. The gallery is one space but half of it has a standard ceiling height and the other half has a very high ceiling.
This space can offer very high footfall due to its central location and visibility from the street so it is a fantastic opportunity for publicity but will also require vigilance from any organisers.
The Bomb Factory Art Foundation is a charity that provides affordable studio spaces to over 100 resident artists and delivers free public educational programmes and exhibitions for the local communities of London. Any booking made in our four sites must align with our charity's aims to deliver art-based and cultural events to the local community.
Our aims include:
- To encourage participation in the arts in the local and wider community by providing an active programme of exhibitions, screenings and performance events, workshops and community projects in our gallery and workshop space.
- To provide an education programme enabling people of any age or background to participate and explore their creative abilities and understanding.
- To offer opportunities for the creation of work and exchange, as well as an introduction to the wider art community and networks through our outreach projects with local schools, colleges and institutions.
- To create a sustainable arts-hub that serves the local and wider community, and to encourage excluded groups and individuals to feel included.
- To forge relationships with like-minded organisations both nationally and internationally, with the intention of fostering creative, dynamic and mutually beneficial collaborations.
- To provide conditions in which artists from all backgrounds and at any stage in their career can thrive.

If hiring the venue for a public event, the organizers may use the toilet on site but the toilets cannot be used by the general public as it is located within the artists studios and would create a security risk.
If you intend to have the gallery open to the public during the day there must be at least two people on site to supervise and cover each others breaks so that the building is not left open and unmonitored.
No smoking in the building.
The Bomb Factory Art Foundation will be responsible for the bar at the opening. The hiree can organise a bar independently but must be responsible for staffing, cleaning and maintaining the bar throughout the event.
Return of Work: the Artist/s may collect The Works on the agreed date and not before
The Artist/s are responsible for keeping a record of visitor numbers and any visitor feedback throughout their exhibition and feeding this back to TBFAF staff
All cleaning and restoration of the gallery/public space is the responsibility of the hiree, this includes but is not limited to cleaning floors, filling holes, repainting walls if necessary, removal of rubbish etc. Any damage incurred during the period of private hire must be paid for by the hiree.
Cancellation policy: Standard 30 day with Grace Period
A former retail unit in the heart of central London, The Bomb Factory Art Foundation’s gallery offers a unique environment to hire. By hiring our space you not only get to hold your events in a dramatic space in a lively and central location, but also help support The Bomb Factory Art Foundation’s charitable and artistic outcomes.
The gallery comfortably fits 120 guests. The building has large glass windows, and the space is airy and filled with natural light.
