Lawrence Hall at Westminster School Enterprise
About this space
Lawrence Hall is an Art Deco venue built between 1925 and 1928 by Easton and Robertson. Original features include a vaulted ceiling and Edwardian turnstiles, and the building was awarded a gold medal by the Royal Institute of British Architects for its architecture.
Named after Trevor Lawrence, former president of the Royal Horticultural Society, the Hall formed part of the Society’s move to Westminster in 1904. In 2006, Lawrence Hall and the adjoining conference centre underwent a £1.2 million refurbishment. In 2011, Westminster School secured a 999-year lease and the Hall also operates as the school’s sports centre.
Originally designed as an exhibition space, Lawrence Hall is now widely used for product launches, conferences and filming. Past productions include Pink Floyd - The Wall, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Richard III, The Saint, Killing Eve and Children of Men.
