Dating back to the 16th century, The Abbey Tavern is a truly unique venue set on the stunning Howth peninsula. Built on the original site of St. Mary’s Abbey, founded in 1042 by Viking King Sitric, the tavern carries a rich historic charm that creates a warm and memorable backdrop for any occasion.

While a traditional Irish pub at its core, we offer three versatile spaces for private hire, perfect for everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations:

The 16th Century Room – An atmospheric private dining space for up to 30 guests.

The Viking Banquet Hall – A grand medieval-style setting for up to 120 guests.
