About this space

Matcha Matsukawa is a Japanese-owned café specialising in matcha and matcha-based desserts, arranged as a compact, tea-room-style space.

Design: The interior pairs deep green-painted walls and a dark ceiling with simple timber accents and a white noren screen bearing the café logo. Paper lantern pendants and pared-back fittings keep the room visually focused and uncluttered.

Features: The venue includes a PA system and speakers and allows hosts to play their own music. The venue has a step-free guest entrance and a wheelchair-accessible layout. In-house matcha drinks and patisserie are served and the room receives ample natural daylight.

Ideal for: Small groups seeking a relaxed, seated, tea-focused social gathering or an informal tasting experience.

What sets it apart: On-site staff provide matcha sampling and guided explanations of different varieties and preparation techniques.

What guests say: The café serves authentic, high-quality matcha and carefully made matcha desserts. The space has a peaceful atmosphere and attentive, knowledgeable staff who explain tea preparation.
