About this space

The New York Basement Bar is a private bar within Meaghers O’Connell Bridge, defined by a traditional, wood‑panelled basement interior that keeps the room compact and intimate.

Design: Dark wood panelling, a low pressed‑pattern ceiling and a compact layout create a classic pub interior; brass fittings and narrow shelving reinforce a traditional, old‑style bar look.

Features: A PA system and speakers are installed for announcements and background music. Wi‑Fi and air conditioning are provided. The space permits outside DJs and playing your own music, and it includes wheelchair access, accessible toilets and a step‑free guest entrance.

Ideal for: Small private groups seeking a relaxed, low‑key setting for seated meals or quiet drinks will find the layout and tone suitable.

What sets it apart: A separate downstairs area sits apart from the main pub and provides a noticeably quieter, more private setting than the ground floor.

What guests say: The space is cosy and warm in appearance and has a characterful, intimate feel.
