FAQs about Top Small Meeting Rooms in Manchester

Don't let the name fool you: most small meeting rooms are equipped with everything you need to host an event. They often have advanced equipment to make sure your business presentation goes off without a hitch. Some other amenities include:

  • Wi-Fi access
  • Sound systems and speakers
  • Video conferencing equipment
  • Projector and screen for presentations
  • Multipurpose furniture (like tables and chairs)
  • Flip charts and whiteboards for note-taking

You should book a meeting room in Manchester as soon as you know that you need one, at least 4 weeks in advance. However, we often have spaces available for you to use whenever you want, so if you're flexible with the timeframe, you might book a meeting room as little as a few days ahead. If you have a specific venue in mind, you may want to book 2 months or more in advance to ensure that it's available when you need it.

Your Guide to Hiring Small Meeting Rooms in Manchester

Here are some points you may want to consider when choosing a small meeting room in Manchester:

  • Does the venue have additional rooms? While you might only need a small meeting room now, it's good to be prepared. Make sure the venue has larger meeting rooms available in case there is a change in the number of attendees. If the meeting is going to take a while, keep in mind that you’re going to need some space for the break.
  • Presentation facilities. Often, due to the limited space, small meeting rooms don't have a projector or audio equipment. If you require these items, make sure to arrange this with the venue beforehand.
  • Room layout. Most small meeting rooms in Manchester offer a boardroom layout. If you're going to do a presentation, a U-shape or classroom layout might be a better option. Keep in mind that you don’t have much space to work with, though. Check with the venue if they are flexible with how the room is laid out and whether or not the boardroom table can be swapped out.

The most popular locations for small meetings are all centrally located which makes getting to and from the venue easy for local attendees. For out-of-town guests, Manchester Picadilly train station is a few minutes by taxi. You’ll find the majority of spaces for hire in:

  • Spinningfields. Most meeting rooms in Manchester are located in the centrally located district of Spinningfields. The blocks around where Deansgate crosses Oxford and Quay are the best place to start looking. Just south of Spinningfields on Whitworth Street, you'll find a few more venues offering small function rooms.
  • Central Retail District. North of Spinningfields is Manchester's Central Retail District. Here you'll find several corporate venues, all of which offer small meeting rooms for hire.
  • Salford Quays/Media City. This is the perfect place to impress clients. This modern waterfront complex offers upmarket restaurants and meeting spaces, some of which overlook the Manchester Canal.

So, what can you expect to pay for a small meeting room in Manchester? There are three main pricing models in the city:

  • Per person, prices start at £25 to £40. These rates include the use of the space and refreshments (tea, coffee, water).
  • All meeting venues offer per-hour rates and per-day/per-session rates. These range from £24 to £102 per hour and £40 to £791/£20 to £252 per day/session. (All data from Tagvenue.)

Booked The Rylands Suite at Biz Hub 49 Piccadilly

I really appreciated the kindness that was showed to me by the reception team. It was really cool, and really made me feel valued as a client. I also appreciated the kindness offering of warm water to help me make my own coffee ☕️, that was exceptionally kind. And I also liked the way the WiFi connection password information was easily available once I entered my room. The room was very spacious and the lighting was excellent. I also appreciated the fact that there was a toilet pretty nearby, so that helped me because I do have to drink a lot of water 💦 for health reasons, so that was a major plus. I also liked the temperature that was set in my room, it was not too hot and it was not too cold 🥶. Overall I really cannot thank Ms Sofia Nawaz for helping me with my booking, and my compliments will always go out to the reception team also for making my whole day go very smoothly. It was certainly, £108.00 well spent in my opinion. Thank you so much!!! XXXXXXXXX Nabeel.

Booked The Portland Suite at voco Manchester

We had an incredible event at Voco and would highly recommend this venue to anyone planning an event or special occasion. The event space is absolutely stunning – clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed with floor-to-ceiling windows that added such a wow factor. Having exclusive use of the entire 9th floor was fantastic, and our guests were blown away by the venue. The staff truly went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. A special thank you to **Mitch, Lester, and Jacob** – your professionalism, attentiveness, and warmth made all the difference. You are a real credit to Voco. We also want to shout out the lovely lady who hosted us in the ‘SNUG’ area of the bar on Saturday 7th June – her customer service was exceptional. I'm just sorry I didn’t catch your name! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Voco for any event – and we’ll definitely be back!

Booked Phelan Room at Gran T's Coffee House
4.9
The meeting rooms at Gran T are a great place to have an all-day meeting. They are cosy and homely - very different to the usual strip-lit corporate meeting rooms. The staff at the cafe downstairs are really friendly and helpful and kept us well-supplied with food and drinks. I'll definitely book this venue again.

What a fantastic place. We hired a room at Ziferblat for our team away day and everyone loved it here. The decor is so quirky and homely. There was plenty of games and stationery so we could do team building activities. There was also lots of breakfast/lunch/drinks provisions and the filter coffee was just the icing on the cake.
