Function Room with Karaoke at Simmons | Liverpool Street

Some of the staff Constantly being told to turn down music by PAID DJ Miscommunication regarding function room I loved this venue last October for my 30th, it was amazing and had such a good time NO problems at all. This time a particular staff member called Ivan came down on a couple occasions because of the ‘noise from music’ baring in mind this is a busy bank holiday with music being played upstairs as well as the noise from the chit chat from customers. however, he claimed that their was a complaint from a customer about the noise, which when you went upstairs you couldn’t even hear. He then proceeeded to come down again after I had expressed my feelings towards him constantly coming into the function room to complain about the music level. He said that it was now busy enough upstairs to have the music as high/ loud as possible. The manager on shift Alex I believe his name was then came to also mention the noise level. THIS DID not happen last October and no staff was constantly in and out they just left us to our own devices devices which was the experience we paid then. As it was a bank holiday I was told then after 11 the function area would be open to the public which I understood.. about 10:55pm Ivan came in again to mention they we had to be out in 5 mins and the music would need to go off aswell.. This was not the agreement that I was told by the person that I liased with and she highlighted that we could stay in the room but the public could join too. Ivan came in very forceful and adamant that we needed go and was being rushed out no explanation just the urgency for us to leave. He was rude and inconsiderate that this was a private function and was more focused about what was going on downstairs than upstairs. I then voiced my annoyance to the Manager and he said that something had come up as to why we wasn’t being forced out. But didn’t really take any accountability or come up with a satisfactory solution I did not hire and room and would not have given Simmons any of our money if we knew this experience would be the yoga opposite to last time. This will be the last time that we use this branch and maybe Simmons as a whole as this was not it. And the service and experience this time was AWFUL. Thanks to Trey for being a GREAT addition from the last time and yesterday. You are a credit to this company.

Felt like the team i arranged drinks packages with didnt communicate that back to bar itself as I had to explain it a few times and it ended up not being followed completely (kept adding drinks to tab when the all inclusive should have started). Glasses were also piling up a bit so couldn't then have drinks that were being ordered as no suitable glasses clean.

The amount of people that the function room can hold is misleading. I had 25 people and it was comfortable but if there were 25 more it would have been way too tight. I would say could hold 30-35 comfortably

These are quite minor things and did not impact my overall experience, but maybe will be useful to future clients. 1. Room smaller than advertised: on Tagvenue, it says the function room has a capacity of 60 people. Our party had 30 people and a trestle table, and could have fit a maximum of 7 more people without the room becoming incredibly crowded. 2. Lack of tablecloth: I was told there would be a tablecloth for the trestle table but on the day they said they had run out and the table was relatively dirty/dusty. 3. There was not much soap in the soap dispensers.
