Rake’s, a place to escape the city, is a day to night destination next to Liverpool Street station.
Open 7 days a week, Rake’s offers comforting food, fantastic coffee and a specially crafted cocktail menu. You can snack, eat and drink throughout the day, hosted by our team of individual characters, all with a love of food and cocktails – there’s no formality, no rules!
From power breakfasts and weekend brunch to social snacks, Rake’s menu is representative of the eclectic culinary tastes and cultures found in London today, the dishes combine stories of travel, trade and culture through exotic ingredients and flavours.
Rake’s has three spaces; The Front Room – home to the main café bar and varying DJ’s from Thursday to Saturday nights. The Parlour – perfect for escaping the city and No.3 – our secret room, can be closed for private parties.
Contemporary art illustrating the new ‘Rake’s Progress’ adorns the walls and depict the personality of a modern day Rake. Cocktails take inspiration from, the world famous series of 8 paintings by William Hogarth, ‘The Rake’s Progress’ – a fictional story of the rise and fall of Tom Rakewell. Much like the modern day Rake, these cocktails are crafted with one or two fine ingredients and expertly mixed… with a twist!

1. Butternut squash & goat cheese wellington, kohlrabi, romesco sauce
2. Halibut, courgette, Jerusalem artichoke sauce nantaise, nasturtium
3. Norfolk rolled turkey roulade, chestnut stuffing, pigs in blanket, cranberry, gravy
4. Braised lamb shank, pommes purée, gremolata, crispy shallots
5. 28-day dry-aged fillet of beef, pommes purée, red wine jus
For the table: Brussels sprouts, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, braised red cabbage
