Entire Restaurant at Angel Venue

When we first visited to view the place, we were told we could use the kitchen facilities. Only at the end of our event were we told we'd be charged an extra £30 - this was disappointing. I would also clarify when you book if you have to pay for setup time or not, as we had originally booked under the impression we did have to pay, but after management changed and we spoke to the new manager, they said we could come earlier to set up anyway, so we ended up booking for more hours than were needed in the first place. Note that clearing up time after the event isn't included, so you will need to book an extra hour or start clearing up before your event finishes. We were also told at the end that there is a higher per hour fee if you use your own catering, but as this was not told to us by the original manager and he agreed £40 per hour, the new manager did not charge us this - but just something to be aware of. Overall I would just get an agreement extremely clearly when you book of what is and isn't included. For us there were likely more discrepancies due to the handover in management happening between when we first booked and the day of the event. If you're connecting your phone/device to bluetooth to play music, note that you cannot keep it with you throughout the whole venue as it stops working/starts cutting out once you go past the first area with fixed seating into the more open space. Despite the downsides, I would definitely consider using this place again if the agreement was clear and final upfront and the prices are reasonable given all the new extra charges. I still think it's great value given the location and quality of the space.
