Bartholomew’s is on King Street in Newcastle, set inside the old Methodist Mission building, which dates back to 1903. Over the years it has been a theatre, restaurant, and beer hall, and today it’s a whisky, cocktail, and craft beer venue with a clear 1920s influence.

The building still has plenty of character, with chandeliers, a tiered balcony, moody interiors, and velvet details.

The food is built around sharing, with small plates, larger dishes, and late-night options that suit social events and longer evenings.
