About this space

ATYP’s most multi-purpose space, The Popsy, meets the technical specifications of a traditional black box theatre, but can be transformed into almost any configuration.

Located on the Wharf’s first floor, clients can choose to flood this expansive and dramatic space with natural light or swathe it in complete darkness to make the most of the room’s professional lighting grid. The Popsy also features a Juliet balcony ideal for filming, photography, or to discreetly house a lighting or sound deck away from the main space.

Hiring The Popsy also unlocks the potential to access a fully equipped kitchenette and breakout space adjacent to the room, which is ideal for staff and catering needs.

Host rules

- No smoking in the building.
- No hot drinks and beverages in the theatre.
- Hirer not permitted to touch any technical equipment without a ATYP staff member present
- No Alcohol after 10pm
- No outside alcohol is to be brought into the venue without a catering license
- Shared Foyer is available in a non- exclusive capacity for client use when hiring the Rebel Theatre but must be alerted to in advance as it will be a negotiation with other building tenants.
