About this space

A beautifully light space with views over the gardens, the Orangery, often known as the Loggia, features a marble and limestone chequerboard floor, and lends itself perfectly as a bar area or venue for a drinks reception.
On a fine day, it is ideal for guests to spill out onto the outside veranda area to enjoy drinks and to appreciate the wonderful gardens and grounds.

Our Heritage:
Rothamsted Manor, established in 1623, is an impressive Grade I listed Manor house set in 12 acres of beautiful gardens and stunning woodland in rural Harpenden, Hertfordshire.
John Bennet Lawes, the founder of Rothamsted Experimental Station, now Rothamsted Research, was born in this house on 28th December 1814. His ancestors, however, the Wittewronges, built the original Manor in the 1600s. There is actually a record of a settlement on this site dating back as far as the 13th Century.
The Manor is filled with impressive features including historic fireplaces, beautiful portraits, and lovely Spanish Leather wall coverings, many of which have remained largely untouched since the 1600s. It is bound to impress guests and provide plenty of inspiration for any events you choose to hold with us.
