A magnificent late Victorian Building, the grade II listed Chelsea Old Town Hall is a versatile elegant event venue. Located on the fashionable King’s Road, Chelsea Old Town Hall is a short distance from Sloane Square and South Kensington
Underground Stations.
The Main Hall is a perfect example of late Victorian neo-classical architecture, featuring a vaulted ceiling, ornate cherub-clad covings and grand granite and marble columns making it a stunning backdrop for any special occasion. The stained-glass windows, murals, oil paintings, candelabra chandeliers and carved wooden crests pay tribute to the historical vibe of the building.
The 311sqm hall is a wonderfully versatile events space which can be used for exhibition/fairs and sales as well as conferences and for celebratory events such as wedding receptions, gala dinners and private parties - a sprung wooden floor provides the perfect setting for dances and wedding parties.
A flat floored room, 158 squared metres, it can seat 340 people theatre style, 120 cabaret style and 135 classroom style for meetings. For functions it can hold 144 for a dinner dance or 180 dinner and up to 400 for a standing reception.
The elegant Cadogan Suite can be hired in conjunction with the Main Hall - for conferences it is often used as the catering area and for functions it is the caterers back of house area.
The Main Hall can also be hired in conjunction with the Small Hall and Cadogan Suite if you require exclusive use of the venue.
Prices
Day hire: access 08:00-18:00 hours
Late day hire: access 14:00-midnight
Full day hire: access 08:00-midnight
Rates quoted are for the day hire period for the Main Hall, please do contact us for rates for our different hire periods or if hiring with the Cadogan Suite, Small Hall or exclusive use of the whole venue.
Rates are VAT exempt.
Please be advised:
• A damage deposit is applicable - £575 for conferences or similar / £1000.00 for exhibitions, concerts, fashion shows and similar
• All supplier set up and clear down is to take place during the hire period.
• For multi day bookings you need to include the evening in your hire period – the first day will be our late day or full day hire period
depending what time you come on site, the middle days will be our full day hire period and the last day will be our day or full day hire
period depending on what time you vacate the venue.
• The hire fee includes use of data projector and PA system. The pa system is for speeches and background music, it is not suitable for
DJs/live entertainment - DJs and performers to bring their own stand alone PA system.
• If using more than 2 microphones an AV technician is required.
• Conference chairs, trestle tables and round banqueting tables available.

Please note rates quoted below are for events taking place between April 2025-March 2026 – if your event is after this date period please be advised the rates are subject to an annual rate increase and rates are normally published by late March for each rate year:
• 1 x Technician Half Day (1 – 4 Hours) can be hired at a rate of £250.00 + VAT
1 x Technician Full Day (4 – 8 Hours) can be hired at a rate of £400.00 + VAT
1 x Technician Extended day (up to 12 hours) can be hired at a rate of £450.00 + VAT
• SIA security staff for your event at the cost of £22.00 + VAT per hour (minimum 5 hours). Premium rate of £43.00 + VAT per hour (minimum 5 hours) applicable on all Bank holidays and New Year’s Eve and £64.00 + VAT per hour (minimum 5 hours) on Christmas Day
• For all public and ticketed events these guards are compulsory, for other events our Event Managers will advise based on the event requirements if needed.
• Cloakroom attendants Porter, Cleaner, Usher, are £24.00 + VAT per hour (minimum 4 hours) Monday -Friday / £25.00 + VAT per hour (minimum 4 hours) Saturday and Sunday and bank holidays/special days.
• Traffic Marshals are £22.00 + VAT per hour (minimum 5 hours). Premium rate of £43.00 + VAT per hour (minimum 5 hours) applicable on all Bank holidays and New Year’s Eve and £64.00 + VAT per hour (minimum 5 hours) on Christmas Day. Traffic marshals are normally required for events with a high volume of deliveries.
• Additional audio visual equipment - price on application. Please advise of requirements and we will arrange for a quote from our recommended AV partner.

Host rules
• All set up and clear down is to take place during the hire times. The venue is to be fully vacated by the end of hire period and all items bought on site removed.
• Self-catering is not permitted. We work alongside several approved caterers. If our approved caterers are not able to meet your needs – for example dietary reasons – we will consider an external caterer coming on site – there is an application process and fees will be applicable if approved.
• No notice, sign, flag, bunting, banner, decoration, drapery, or other item shall be affixed to any part of the building or to the furniture or fittings therein by adhesive tape, adhesive label, Blu-tack or any other adhesive substance. Where such fixings are undertaken by the Hirer, any contractor or any hirer’s client, the Hirer will be responsible for the full cost of the repair. It is the duty of the Hirer to ensure that their contractors, clients and attendees fully adhere to this policy.
• No adhesive tapes may be used to mark wooden or carpeted floors.
• No decorations, flags, emblems, gas-filled balloons, streamers or confetti are permitted inside the Premises or externally.
• Naked flames, smoke making machines, indoor fireworks and stage pyrotechnics will not normally be permitted in the premises. Applications in writing to waive this regulation must be made to the Supervising Officer for consideration and hirers are advised that substantial additional staffing costs may be incurred if approval is granted.
• SIA security staff is required for religious festivals, cultural festivals, public events (ticketed and unticketed), concerts, Boxing, Kick Boxing, Wrestling, Martial Arts or any other fighting/combat tournament and any other event deemed by the Head of Conference and Events to required security staff. This list of events is not exclusive or exhaustive. The venue team will organise applicable security staff and the client will be liable for the fees.
