About this space

Our first-floor event space, the Palace of Varieties, is suitable for up to 120 guests.

Palace of Varieties has a stage and dance floor and you could imagine it was used as a ballroom in the early years, ideal for parties and live entertainment.

If your event requires catering, we can provide tea, coffee and traditional sandwiches, right up to freshly prepared Thai banquet or specified dining options.

Rules of the space

We will require a £5 deposit per person for any food being served. This deposit must be received 14 days before the event.

Please notice, that all music must be off at the time the function ends, and all the guests shall leave the building a further 15 minutes later. DJ's and cleaners will have 30 minutes extra for packing etc.

Outside DJ's own equipment is allowed but they should finish at the end time of the function.

There is a PA system in the function room where a personal laptop or mobile device can be used to play music externally to our PA system and the volume control will be managed by the manager on duty from behind the upstairs bar.

Birthday parties for under 21's will have an additional charge for door staff, which is compulsory. Prices will be confirmed and paid for before the party.

Under 18's must not consume alcohol on the premises, or be intoxicated on the premises.

Children must be supervised at all times and must remain in the Function room and not on the landing.

Please, check the rota and day time bookings before granting permission for decorating the room. Unfortunately, there is no possibility to hung or stuck anything to the wallpaper or use glitter inside.

White Tack on the doors or wood panelling is permissible but must be removed at the end of the party, however, any damages incurred will be charged.
