This major roadway runs the length of Richmond and is where most of the action goes down. Here you’ll find plenty of bars, restaurants and hotels with meeting rooms and corporate facilities. This makes Swan Street a great choice for both corporate functions as well as birthdays and other parties. In this area, you also have the option of a pub-crawl for the die-hards after your event is done.
On Richmond’s northern border is Victoria Street where you’ll find many of the old Victorian-era hotels converted into event venues. There's a good mix of dining rooms, outdoor spaces and function rooms available for hire there. If you’re planning a business event, you’re in luck, as there are also plenty of corporate venues in the area.
For weddings and other large functions, look at the venues south of Swan on Church Street and at the end of Bridge Street before the Yarra River.
Richmond is best known for the Asian grocery stores and restaurants which can be found on Victoria Street, nicknamed “Little Saigon”. This part of the city is also home to many hotels, some of which date back to the 19th century. Some of these Victorian-era buildings have been converted into restaurants, bars and multi-purpose venues for hire.
