Upstairs Room at Esquires Coffee Balham

I loved the downstairs lounge I hired for my 40th birthday party cause it was quirky and spacious, I loved the style! Also, the food I ordered was amazing and so the cocktails! My friends had a great time. On another note, we could play music we love which made my birthday perfect! Thanks so much for this experience, I would repeat it!

I would have loved to stay for longer, at least until midnight, but I understand this has to do with current restrictions

Everything was great, venue was lovely, helpful staff. We had lots of compliments on the food and the downstairs area was perfect to hold a small party

This was a lovely venue and well suited to our needs. It's easy to get to from Balham station and the second room downstairs is cosy and atmospheric which supported our wellbeing event.

One of the staff wouldn't give us access to drinking water and said we had to pay for bottled water. However we asked a different, very helpful, person who happily brought us a large pitcher of water.

The venue is perfect for a small party , nice decor and a bit quirky I really like it and being able to used down stairs as well made it good value .

I felt Vivien was short with me in some emails , I think if that’s how you want to organise an important event (which peoples party s usually are ) you need to expect people to ask questions and need to know about the night. As people we’re still in the cafe at 6pm we only had 20 mins turn around which was really stressful and unfortunately my food order of 4 platters were not done ! The young woman who was there for the evening knew nothing about them. This made the beginning of the party very stressful and unfortunate! She then made 2 platters which cost £60 which were sausage rolls and french stick, small rolls with cheese and tuna which I guess was meant to be the veggie one! It was such a shame as I loved the venue and had planned the night meticulously. I felt a bit sad about it all! The staff member was on her phone most of the night behind the kitchen and I thought that was a shame as we are a friendly family and it would have made the experience much nicer to have a helpful smiling face behind the counter.
