About this space

The Library Bar is a is at the heart of our building, in what used to be the Children’s Library. You can order your drink across the original librarian’s counter.

As well as being perfect for parties, workshops and all kinds of gatherings, the Library bar can be used for smaller scale performances such as live music, spoken word, book launches and cabaret. We welcome decorations and are happy to allow the space to be dressed for your event!

The large bowler hat mural above the bar and five limerick-topped tables were commissioned by Chats Palace East-London street-artist, Angry Dan.

Set in a beautiful grade II listed building Chats Palace is a stone's throw from the bustling Chatsworth Road. Our East London landmark provides the perfect setting for a unique and special celebration.

Chats Palace is delighted to offer your guests access to versatile event spaces such as the Library Bar operating as an event bar, a black-box Theatre space, Dance Studio, and a meeting facility, our Blue Room.

We are located 5 minutes’ walk from Homerton Overground Station with Stratford’s excellent tube and rail links a short journey away.
